Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has temporarily left house arrest to undergo surgery on his shoulder, according to a statement from his wife, Michelle Bolsonaro.
Bolsonaro is currently serving a 27-year sentence related to a 2023 coup attempt following his election loss. He had recently been granted a 90-day “humanitarian” house arrest period due to deteriorating health, including a recent bout of pneumonia.
